Sacred Self-Care Workshop w. Melanie + Teresa
You will not want to miss this amazing collaboration event happening on Saturday March 2nd from 6:00pm-8:00pm at You + Me Studio. Melanie Beech of Mindful Movement with Melanie and Teresa Nieman of East Meets West are hosting a Sacred Self-Care Workshop. An evening of acupuncture, Yin Yoga, meditation and sound.
The theme for workshop will be Spring through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In TCM, spring is associated with the wood element, which governs the liver and gallbladder and their energetic pathways. The climate is wind, the colour is green, and the emotion is anger. Your evening will include:
• Upon arrival you will be offered warm herbal tea to support liver health and an affirmation card.
• The workshop will begin with a grounding Qigong practice to help release tension, support the liver, nourish tendons, and get the qi flowing!
• You will move in a series of Yin postures to stimulate the liver meridian and support the flow of qi.
• Following the yoga practice, Teresa will offer an acupuncture treatment. There will be three different options: relaxation, hormone regulation or detoxification.
• Once the treatment is in place, Melanie will offer a guided meditation themed around letting go, followed by a soothing sound journey.

10-Week Series - Yogalates w. Stephanie Saturdays 10:30am
Join Stephanie Grozell for her 10-week Yogalates class series at You + Me Studio. This series will be Saturdays 10:30am - 11:30am from January 6th to March 23rd (no class January 20th + February 24th).
Yogalates - This is a combination class where you flow through a Yoga style warm up, explore deeper core activation and mobility work with Pilates exercises, and then find some longer more restorative stretches to cool down. This class will offer some higher energy, a bit of cardio challenge, and more challenging strength components. It is a great next step for those who have done an Explore Pilates class and are interested in increasing the level of challenge, or for anyone interested in exploring the compliment of both Yoga and Pilates in on session. This class is not suitable for those with injuries or some movement limitations.

Explore Mat Pilates - This foundations level class offers key learning to develop strength, mobility, and a supported posture. You will explore the foundations of Pilates including breath, concentration, centre, and control to support strengthening the core, mobilizing the spine and joints, and balancing the body with awareness. Classes progress during the series to offer a challenge. Modifications for injuries or limitations are offered. This class is suitable to all levels of fitness and experience.

Deep Rest - Evening of Yoga Nidra + Sound - w. Melanie
Join Melanie December 29th from 6:00pm-8:00pm for a evening of Yoga Nidra + Sound. This special two-hour workshop will begin with a gentle yoga practice on your back to help you prepare the body for stillness. A guided Yoga Nidra meditation will follow along with a soothing sound bath.
Warm herbal tea will be offered upon arrival, and a delicious seasonal vegan treat will be served after.

Self-Massage to Promote Myofascial Release Workshop - w. Sarah
Sarah Oliver of Living Well Body Works is hosting a workshop on Self-Massage to Promote Myofascial Release on December 15th at 11:00am-12:30pm at You + Me Studio.
Using therapy balls and foam rollers for self-massage we will increase circulation, reduce muscle tension and support the unwinding of fascial restrictions. Outcomes can include relaxation, decreased pain, and increased mobility. Learn techniques to use at home to offset muscle soreness. Nia 52 Moves Class w. Noelle
Noelle is teaching a special Nia 52 moves class Saturday April 22 from 12:15pm to 2:15pm at You + Me Studio. This exciting Nia fundamentals class is described by Noelle below.
“Nia has a simple formula based on 52 moves. Using the inspiration of Martial Arts, Healing Arts, and the dance Arts, we integrate these 52 moves with repetition, personal creativity, and emotions to craft katas and sequences in different ways.
This spontaneous and organic way of moving is crucial in creating new neuro pathways for the brain. The first half of the workshop we will spend approximately 1 minute per move. I will demonstrate, make hands on corrections and answer questions.
The second half, I will guide us in a Classic Nia class where the students will be able to implement and experience what they have just learned. My intention is to provide my students with the mechanical technique to the 52 moves. This intensive will create a more familiar and relaxed environment for everyone, inviting the opportunity to nurture our body, mind, emotions and spirit.”
